Crackdown 2 ReviewedCrackdown 2 is a continuation of the first game in the series. It takes about 12 hours to complete most of the tasks - if that’s your thing? However, if you’re into to some mayhem mania Crackdown 2 is so much more than its missions.
The storyline is skating on pretty thin ice but basically you’re an agent who protects Pacific City from two factions with sinister sounding names. Cell, a terrorist group and The Freaks, creatures of immense ugly meanness - boohoo for them right? Nah they come at you while spitting up acid and swinging claws. So do yourself and them a favour by going on killing spree. What’s the best way to kill a Freak? You don’t ask yourself that question every day right? If you do here’s a link!
We’ve all heard about the bad affects of UV light - well the freakish fools are more sensitive than most ahhh. Mmm so your main tasks are to power up beacons and protect light bombs, there are nine bombs in all to be let loose. The beacons are protected by Cell and that’s the fundamental basis of the game.
Really Crackdown 2 seems alot like the original. Additions like cooperative play are fun where you can make your way through the city with 3 other players and if your into collectables I’ve two words for you: agility orbs. These allow you jump like you’re on the moon. But you don't have to collect all 500 of them!
I like the open nature of Crackdown 2 but the ending was a bit disappointing from a personal point of view. You’re supposed to move to the game’s 16 multiplayer mode for Rocket Tag which is essentially a “ Your it” game. An orb is placed on the map and the players make a mad dash for it. Once you get the orb your it until your taken out. The longer you keep the orb the more points you get! Hopefully I'll get more points next time...
