An American Football sports simulation game based on the Nation Football League.
Researchers at Electronic Arts have come up with a startling new prediction on how the Super Bowl will play out this Sunday, February 7, 2010 – we ask is this the only way to beat down the Colts?
Here at Faceoffgames we've played out our own Superbowl simulation match and we were so sure of ourselves we put money down. All our birthdays came at once and we say Colts win 35 - 31 with Peyton Manning making the end zone his own.
This begs the question how accurrate is E.A. Sports' simulation formula? Well there has been the predictions of the conference championship games - accurate I heaer you say. But as any gamer will tell you at the end of the day its all about the dexterity of the gamers, thumbs and fingers.
If you want to see the E.A. prediction play out you can watch it in the video sections on Faceoffgames, according to this simulation, the New Orleans Saints take it 35 - 31 over the Colts, all thanks to a key 'special teams' miscue in the fourth quarter.
According to E.A. expect to see some offensive fireworks in the first three quarters of the game, with the Colts leading 24 - 21 going into the final period as the two teams exchange a series of touchdowns.
Then Reggie Bush in the simulated Madden Bowl dances his way through the Colts' defenders, returning a punt 42 yards for the touch down. All due respect to Reggie but it didn't happen in our version of events, more power to him if he does it in the real bowl.
In E.A.'s prediction Peyton's digital doppelganger leads the Colts back down the field putting the Colts back on top, 31 - 28 and it looks like the match over.
But according to the E.A. simulation Saints quarterback Drew Brees drives the Saints into Colts territory and in the end flings an 11 - yard pass to David Thomas for the game - winning touchdown. E.A.'s Final score: 35 - 31. In the real Bowl, I wonder will Drew get the chance with Dwight Freeney all over him like a bad rash for the day. He may have hurt his ankle against the Jets in the A.F.C. Championship but that just means he might be carrying a cruch with him to hand out the beatings on game day. He played in Faceoffgames simulation match and maybe that was the difference.
For the record, in the Faceoffgames simulation game Peyton splits the definsive line and spins into the end zone having left the saftey of his pocket. There is only one thing missing in the version we played - if E.A. could increase the celebration capacity of the players we'd love it even more!
Running Back Joseph Addai when asked about how Peyton Manning buys time in the pocket answered, “he is a smart guy. He does a great job because he knows everything as far as what the linemen are supposed to do, what the receivers and the backs are doing, and he makes my job easier because he can just lean over and tell me what to do. He understands. He’s been playing for a long time and he understands where we’re coming from and how to go about it. He knows when to take a hit and when not to take a hit. It’s not an easy thing. It comes with experience. He’s been doing this for a long time, upwards of 12 seasons, so it comes second nature to him.”
Colts to hoist the Vince Lombardi trophy come Sunday? Well whatever the result, if you want to replay the season, we will be introducing Madden NFL 10 bracket style tournaments on Faceoffgames for cash and product prizes soon just like we did for FIFA 10!

Yeah funny game!!!
Had a game of last night of Madden at a friends house - lots fun : )
One thing I have to say, I'm happy the Saints won - nothing against the Colts but New Orleans has seen some rough times lately!
Hey Luis - the Saints walked away with it in the end.
The on side kick at start of the second half - what a play to call? The Colts started strong but the Saints brought it home - MaRdi GrA time : ) As for Peyton - he fought a good fight guys but Drew owned the night - turns out E.A. were close enough in their prediction : o
