FIFA boss man David Rutter has said there are no plans to incorporate Kinect or Move support into his game any time soon, as his team has yet to find a compelling reason to offer it.   Rutter said: "We're not supporting it within FIFA 11. I'm a big fan of pushing gameplay and there are some cool...

    Some Records Set At E3

So although the video game industry can do nothing to match the world record crushing juggernaut that is 1500 Irish people on space hoppers, it is important to note that some records were given out during last week’s E3 industry scrum. Microsoft executives were handed the record for the Best-selling High-Definition Video Game Console for XBOX 360, for  40 million units as of March 31, 2010.

NER NER...NER NERNER NERNER: The new game? No, the sort of movie...I guess

If you were on the internet yesterday, and let’s face it: It was only a repeat of Come Dine With Me so you probably were, you’ll know about the amazing Mortal Kombat...thing. Everyone seemed unsure if it was a game trailer, a movie trailer, a fan movie (made by some sort of mythically rich Mortal Kombat superfan...like Big Boi maybe) or a documentary about a real competition that was going to be on tv (that could have been just me…oh well).

Adventures in Video Game Advertising: FThreeAR

Alright, so if you know the F.E.A.R games, you’ll know how slim the line is that they walk between “oh this is pretty cool” and “this is embarrassingly naff and I will now weep for the dignity of all involved”. The new trailers reveal that, in the promotional department anyway, F3AR has picked one side and is heading towards it full bore. And yeah, it’s the second one.

  • Afraid To Show Us Privates, Microsoft?

Afraid To Show Us Privates, Microsoft?

Although there is a huge market for games centred on genitalia (probably, I don't know for certain, honest) we don't tend to give the games much coverage. Actually I'm just going to stop making tenuous puns like that now before it gets out of hand. We were, however, totally psyched to see how Zombie Cow's newest offering Privates turned out. Privates is a twin-stick shoot 'em-up in which players control...

Demon's Souls in Europe, Uncharted 3

Two rumours have sprung up this afternoon which are quite exciting. Firstly, Kotaku have reported that cult favourite Demon's Souls may finally be coming to Europe. The game was originally planned for release only in Japan, as developers From Software believed the game would be unpopular in Western markets. Atlus didn't think so, and agreed to disribute the game in America. It sold much better than From Software expected, shifting over 250,000 copies.

Composer Chance Thomas Adds 3D Sound to Avatar

While most of the focus on James Cameron’s Avatar movie and Ubisoft’s games has been on the groundbreaking 3D technology, there’s been a lot of innovative work done in the sound department, as well. Chance Thomas, the composer of James Cameron’s Avatar game, took some time away from the recording studio to talk about the creative process that went into filling the 5.1 surround sound experience that Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC gamers will hear starting December 1.
